Our farm is situated in the town of Mastatal, and the closest large town to Mastatal is Puriscal. To travel to Mastatal you will first need to travel to Puriscal.

There are regular buses from San Jose to Puriscal (1 hour) from the Comtrasuli bus terminal located on Avenida 1 between Calle 16 and Calle 18 in downtown San Jose.

The bus will drop you off near the main plaza and old church in Puriscal. You will then need to find the bus stop for the bus going to Mastatal. The bus to Mastatal leaves from in front of a "carnicería" and a soda Doña Toña across from the Super Mora supermarket parking lot.

The easiest way to find this is, from the main plaza in Puriscal, is to look towards the church and take the road that runs in between the church and the plaza to your right one block. The bus leaves at 3 p.m. (except on Sundays when it leaves at 4 p.m.). You will want to arrive at least 20 minutes before the bus departs to assure a seat.

There is usually a sign on the bus that reads "Zapatón" though you should ask the driver where he is going to be sure. The trip to Mastatal takes 2 hours. Our farm is located outside of Mastatal, on the road towards the National Park and the nearby town of Zapaton, but if it will be easier if you can let us know what day you plan to arrive so we can arrange to pick you up from Mastatal.
